Honda Vehicle Service Warning Indicators
Are you aware of what your Honda dashboard lights mean? Several different indicator lights are programmed into your Honda dashboard to show when something needs action or attention. Not all lights mean an emergency, but some can indeed warn that there's something seriously wrong with your vehicle. Familiarize yourself with the following ten indicator lights that you may see on your Honda vehicle.

Airbag Fault
If this light stays on, then you most likely have an airbag issue that should be checked out by a professional.

Low Fuel Level Warning Light
This light indicates a low level of gas and lets you know to stop by your closest gas station to refuel. Refueling will turn off this indicator light.

Oil Pressure Warning Light
This light also indicates a serious situation where your oil pressure is too low. This might be due to a low level of oil in your engine, or it might be due to a major part failure. Don't continue driving if this light comes on as you might seriously damage your engine.

Service Vehicle Soon
Your maintenance schedule is linked to this light, and it will generally come on when your vehicle is due for a recommended service.

TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System)
When this light comes on, it generally means that one or more of your tires are low on air pressure. It's a good idea to stop as soon as possible and refill the air. Driving on tires with low air could lead to a blowout.

Slip Indicator
This light may often blink on and off while you're driving. It merely indicates that your traction control system is working correctly. If the light stays on, then your system might be off.

Charging System Warning Light
If your electrical charging system is experiencing problems, then this light may come on. If you're driving, it might mean a broken belt or a drain on the battery that might keep your vehicle from running.

Brake System
A malfunction in your ABS usually prompts this light to come on. Although it should be checked out as soon as possible, it generally does not mean you can't use your brakes. The light may also indicate low brake fluid.

Open Door Warning Light
The open door warning light notifies you of an open door or trunk. Before continuing your drive, check that all doors and trunk are closed securely.

Coolant Level Warning
This is a serious warning light that indicates your coolant level or temperature has reached unsafe levels. Your engine may overheat if you continue driving. Stop and make sure that it's not a sensor failure.
