Although you are buying a reliable car when you get a Honda, the automaker sells its new vehicles with coverage plans if a component breaks and needs to be repaired or replaced. Honda's factory warranties cover parts replacement without a fee for the driver, provided the component falls within the scope of the warranty's coverage. Warranties are included on new cars after a specific model year, and they apply to vehicles with both hybrid and regular gasoline powertrains. Additional supplemental MPP plans are also an option for your Honda.

New Vehicle Limited Warranty

Honda's New Vehicle Limited Warranty covers the mechanical parts in your new Honda for up to 36,000 miles or the first three years of vehicle ownership, whichever is first. The tires may be included with this warranty based on the tire manufacturer and car you buy. This warranty applies to all significant original factory-made parts on your car.

Emissions Warranties

Honda has two emissions warranties for new vehicles. One emissions warranty covers new Honda cars sold and operated across the country. Another emissions warranty applies to vehicles purchased and operated in California and new Hondas in other states that follow the same emissions regulations as California.

Powertrain Limited Warranty

The Powertrain Limited Warranty that comes with a new Honda covers the mechanical components in the vehicle for a maximum of 60,000 miles or up to five years. The engine, transmission, and axles are some of the significant parts covered in the Powertrain Warranty.

Hybrid Powertrain Warranty

In addition to the regular Powertrain Warranty, hybrid Honda vehicles are covered by another separate Hybrid Powertrain Warranty, which covers defective and worn original components in the hybrid system. This warranty includes coverage for the battery and related battery components.

Rust Perforation Warranty

If your Honda develops rust from the inside out, the warranty will cover repair costs and replace the affected parts. This warranty will last for five years.

Seat Belt Limited Warranty

If a seat belt breaks or malfunctions, it will be covered by the Seat Belt Limited Warranty for a maximum of 15 years or 150,000 miles through this plan.

MPP Plans

Along with the new vehicle factory warranties that it provides to consumers, Honda has additional warranty plans to make car ownership even more confidence-inspiring. These MPP plans include GAP and lease wear coverage, along with service contracts and warranties designed for Honda's older cars.
