What's New for the 2018 Honda CR-V?

Due to the complete redesign of the CR-V last year, you will not see a lot of changes between now and then. You will, however, notice significant differences between this new generation and then one that dates back to the 2016 model year. Compared to older models, the 2018 CR-V is roomier, more comfortable, and more luxurious in utility features. That includes a new turbocharged engine that supplies both fast acceleration and thrifty fuel economy. This new generation of five-passenger crossover SUVs also introduces increased rear legroom, improving family road trips all around. And, with increased ground clearance, the CR-V is ready to hit off-road trails with greater prowess.

Trim Differences

Choose between four trim models: the LX, EX, EX-L, and Touring. In the base LX trim, you can save the most money on your new CR-V. That doesn't mean you're missing out on a comfortable, high-tech ride, however. The LX includes automatic climate control and a 5-inch color LCD dash display, so you always feel comfortable and connected. There's also a Bluetooth connection, so you can stream music or make hands-free calls at your leisure.

When you upgrade to the EX, you'll enjoy increased smartphone integration and a 7-inch central touchscreen. This improved infotainment system includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capabilities, which display smartphone apps like Phone and Messages on the central touchscreen. Use this technology to keep up with friends without looking away from the road. The EX is also home to comfortable heated seats and heated mirrors, making it an ideal pick for drivers who experiences frosty winters.

The EX-L is where things start to get luxurious. Inside, you'll find a classy cabin, with leather upholstery and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. The EX-L also introduces an eight-speaker audio system with HD radio, putting a new spin on all of your favorite tunes. When you travel after hours, the auto-dimming rearview mirror reduces headlight glare.

Finally, the top-trim CR-V Touring takes you to the limits of luxury. It adds to the EX-L features with ambient interior lighting and a navigation system. The Touring roof rails make it easy to bring your kayak out to play. And it's LED headlights and dual chrome exhaust tips give this CR-V a little extra exterior style.
