Honda's racing division is expanding its horizons at this year's SEMA show, unveiling an innovative business strategy to create performance parts for Acura and Honda owners. Honda Racing Corporation US (HRC US) specializes in track, off-road, and street applications and has earned championship titles across the nation.
HRC Highlights New Advances at SEMA Show
HRC's current priority is to allow its engineers to showcase their skills in the American performance parts retail market. Back in August 2024, they revealed a prototype for the Acura Integra Type S HRC during Monterey Car Week, which was met with great enthusiasm.
David Salters, president of HRC US, is excited about the future. “At Honda, competition drives our challenging spirit, inspires our best ideas, and powers the creative concepts we bring to reality,” he said. “HRC will foster deeper connections with Acura and Honda fans while enhancing their driving experience.”
The SEMA show was packed with HRC display vehicles, including the Honda IndyCar, Honda CR-V Hybrid Racer, and Honda Civic Type R Pace car. These vehicles drew significant attention and emphasized Honda's dedication to street, off-road, and race designs. Launched initially as Honda Performance Development in 1993, HRC US focuses on high-performance cars with the same vision despite its recent name change. The organization highlights that “HRC US specializes in powertrain, chassis, electronics, and performance parts development, as well as offering technical and race support.”
For racing enthusiasts, there's plenty to look forward to. HRC US remains committed to creating championship-level parts to boost your racing and off-road performance. Even casual fans of high-performance vehicles will find HRC US an interesting topic worth exploring.
