On December 9, 2024, Bob Nelson received the Automotive News All-Star award in recognition of his leadership. Under Nelson's guidance, Honda has committed to a complex goal through their Triple Action to Zero approach, aiming for zero environmental impact by 2050. Their focus includes carbon neutrality, resource circulation, and clean energy as part of this ambitious plan.
Reflecting on his award, Nelson said, “It is an honor for me to lead this companywide effort that involves an incredible team of creative and passionate Honda associates who are working to realize our goal of zero environmental impact.” He also acknowledged the challenges they face in the coming years but expressed confidence that their collective effort will help Honda meet its 2050 goal.
Nelson's career with Honda began at the Marysville Auto Plant in Ohio, and he has held several roles within the company, particularly in manufacturing. He was instrumental in creating Honda's first sustainability award for its suppliers, marking just one of his many accomplishments. As he oversees areas like human resources and business operations, Nelson remains focused on ensuring Honda achieves its long-term environmental objectives.
