Delray Honda is a proud supporter of the Help Our Wounded (HOW) Foundation, a nonprofit that supports wounded soldiers through a variety of services, including Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy. We recently sponsored the organization’s Pinball Wizard Night, which is raising money to provide this advanced therapy to several veterans in need.
Many soldiers return from service with wounds that can’t be seen. Post-traumatic stress can make life unbearable for many veterans and HOW aims to help with a unique medical treatment. Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) has been known to benefit those with issues like traumatic brain injury, as well as several other conditions, but many veterans cannot afford it on their own.
According to the official HBOT website, the treatment helps improve the body’s natural healing process by introducing patients to an environment with 100 percent oxygen. Normally, oxygen is only transported through the body by red blood cells, but HBOT enable’s transportation through several areas, which helps bolster the healing process.
