The newly redesigned 2018 Honda Odyssey goes on sale in Delray Beach this spring! The next generation of the minivan shows off several updates, but in our opinion, these are among the most exciting changes:
Honda Sensing has been made standard on Odyssey EX and above trims.

With Honda Sensing now standard on most trim grades, the next-generation Honda Odyssey offers enhanced peace of mind for parents. Honda Sensing includes:
- Collision Mitigation Braking System
- Lane Keeping Assist
- Road Departure Mitigation
- Adaptive Cruise Control
This year’s trim lineup is comprised of the Odyssey LX, EX, SE, EX-L, Touring and Touring Elite.
Performance is elevated thanks to a new body, chassis and powertrain.
We know that some drivers dismiss minivans because they expect subpar or boring performance. However, Honda has worked to change all that with the Odyssey. Edmunds.com said the 2017 Odyssey “handles exceptionally well” and that it “almost feels like an Accord.” They also said the car’s “V6 engine is refined.”
Now, for 2018, the Odyssey is expected to ramp up performance even further.
- A new 3.5-liter direct-injected V6 produces 280 horsepower, which surpasses the former V6’s 248 hp.
- New 9- and 10-speed automatic transmissions are also now available. In addition to enhancing efficiency, they offer a more refined performance.
- Furthermore, the minivan’s new chassis is lighter and more rigid, while its design is sleeker and more aerodynamic, all of which contribute to enhanced performance and optimized efficiency.
New Magic Slide seats offer greater flexibility.
The Honda Odyssey’s new Magic Slide seats offer numerous configurations, including Easy Access (with horizontally sliding seats!), Super, Wide and Buddy modes. Each mode is described as such:
