For the second year in a row, the Honda Civic has been named the OVERALL winner in Kelley Blue Book’s Best Buy awards! The redesigned Civic not only took top honors as the Best Buy winner in the Small Car category, but also earned top place among all honorees as the model that offered the best combination of value and quality.
Joining the 2017 Honda Civic on the winners list, the 2017 Accord and Pilot earned top honors in the Midsize Car and Midsize SUV categories, respectively. Of all brands, Honda had the most KBB Best Buy winners, claiming awards in three out of 12 vehicle categories, along with winning the Overall Best Buy award yet again with the Civic.
KBB Best Buy Award Criteria
Intense evaluations take place over six weeks to determine which models deserve to be named Best Buys. Various factors are considered, including initial costs, cost to own and residual value. On top of aspects pertaining directly to which vehicles are the smartest investments, judges also take technology, performance, appearance, utility and safety into account.
Here’s what KBB.com had to say about Honda’s 2017 Best Buy winners.
“The Civic wins on value at every level … there's Honda's historically excellent resale value, its equally famous reliability, and the fact that the Civic offers the best fuel economy not just from the EPA, but in our real-world evaluations, too. Ownership isn't just satisfying, it's virtually pain free.”
“Few cars can be purchased or recommended with more confidence than the Honda Accord … Even as quality continues to improve across the entire industry, giving smart shoppers more viable vehicle options than ever, the Accord remains something special.”
“Honda’s 3-row SUV bests the rest in almost every meaningful measure … The roomy Pilot boasts the most accommodating third row in the segment, a bounty of family-friendly conveniences and a comfortable highway ride.”
