
It’s based on an enlarged version of the Honda Fit platform, shares the Honda Civic’s engine and takes styling cues from the Honda CR-V. However, while the all-new 2016 HR-V has much in common with its brand mates, it stands confidently apart.
Although it’s smaller than traditional compact SUVs, HR-V is intelligently crafted to ensure that you can enjoy all of your favorite pastimes without limitations. Edmunds.com calls its cabin versatility “exceptional” and says that for its size there’s “impressive passenger and cargo room.”

- HR-V’s interior can be configured in three primary ways: flip the backseat down for maximum rear space (an impressive 59 cubic feet), flip the backseats and front passenger seat down to fit in objects up to 8 feet long, or flip the Magic Seat up in back to gain 4 feet of vertical space for tall items
- Under the hood there’s a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine, which can be paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) for an EPA-estimated fuel economy rating of 28 city/35 highway mpg1
- Trim levels will include LX, EX and EX-L, and the amount of equipment increases each step you take up the trim ladder; notable offerings include Pandora Internet Radio, Bluetooth Hands-free Phone, a rearview camera and full power accessories, all of which are standard from the base trim up
- Exterior colors include: Alabaster Silver Metallic, Crystal Black Pearl, Deep Ocean Pearl, Milano Red, Misty Green Pearl, Modern Steel Metallic, Mulberry Metallic, White Orchid Pearl
