Last year, Tanya Weyker was involved in a car crash that not only left her badly injured, but also victim to several false charges, including drunk driving. Unfortunately for her, a local sheriff's deputy hit her car and his report about what happened that night was inaccurate to say the least. For nearly a year, she had charges hanging over her head and about $1 million in hospital bills to deal with, but recently her tragic tale ended with exoneration.

The night of the accident, which took place in Milwaukee, Weyker was so badly hurt that her neck was broken in four places and she was unable to use a breathalyzer or perform sobriety tests. While Deputy Joseph Quiles said her breath smelled of alcohol and her eyes were red and glassy, Weyker claimed that she'd only had a few sips of a friends drink and her eyes were red because she was crying. Keep in mind that he was questioning her after T-boning her car, which sent it flying into a tree and resulted in injuries that could have left her paralyzed.

It wasn't long after the incident, less than a month later to be exact, that blood tests surfaced proving she was sober the night of her arrest. Additionally, only two days after the crash, surveillance-video footage revealed that Quiles' squad car didn't make a complete stop at the intersection where he hit Weyker's vehicle. In spite of the fact that all this evidence was available pretty early on, it took a year to clear her of the charges and there were several months in which the county continued to send her letters blaming her for the crash and threatening legal action if she didn't pay for the damage.

Today, she has filed a complaint against the deputy who arrested her, which is not Quiles, and she is still waiting for the county to assist her with paying her medical bills. Check out the video above for more details about this story!
